landscaping, or so i thought...

ok, so this past weekend i had great intentions of doing all my homework- and i did most of it (don't get me wrong) but saturday morning two of my roommates asked me to join them in a service project- so i agreed. when i agreed (and when my roommates agreed) we were under the impression that it was landscaping...
we found the farm, a couple miles out of town, and there were already a few people there... but boy were we in for a surprise... landscaping involved 3 chainsaws, a four-wheeler, a pickup truck, and a skidloader... and cutting down 6 massive trees...
don't worry- they didn't let us use the chainsaws- we were in charge of draging all the limbs into a massive burn pile and picking up the smaller logs to stack by the house.
it was a good time and we, along with some people from the church, were able to help a family out. they had been in IA city with their 7month old daughter for the last month and hadn't been able to prepare for winter especially since they burn wood for heat.
we had a good morning and i even got the majority of my homework done in the afternoon...oh the life of a college student...
