French Vocabulary Lesson

Ok, so I'm reading "La Peste" by Albert Camus which translated is "The Plague", it's actually a good book, but reading 60 pages at one time in French and being able to understand and critically analyze it in French is a little difficult. I don't normally look up vocab words, but there was this one that i wrote down in my notes and then when i looked it up.. i laughed, so i thought i'd share it with you... ok first of all the word is "moleskine" and the phrase is " Le journaliste s'était ainsi épuisé en visites et il avait pris une idée juste de ce que pouvait être une mairie ou une préfecture, à force d'attendre sur une banquette de moleskine devant de grandes affiches..." and it goes on first of all that's a super long sentance... but anyway the word "moleskine" is weird and at first it reminded me of the word "moleskin" in english, you know that stuff you put over blisters to protect them... i use it a lot when i run.. but anyway i looked it up and it means "imitation leather" isn't that just crazy.. but i thought you all would like to know that...
now that i'm on the topic of French.. i'll teach you something that is useful.... how about "where is the bathroom"-- in french "ou sont les toilettes?" [ouh son (the "on" is nasal) lay twalettes?" so if you're ever in Paris and need to go to the bathroomw there you go... now, back to reading French!
